Most of this trail follows the shore of the Kootenay River, there are many opportunities to stop and watch Mother Nature at work. There are some challenging sections so wear good shoes.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #ffcc00;\"><strong>April 12, 2021: Travel on Ward&#8217;s Ferry Trail is currently NOT recommended due to severe blow down over a 3 km stretch of the trail.\u00a0 This will take volunteers a substantial amount of time to clear. Check this site to learn when it reopens<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<div id=\"id1\" class=\"style_SkipStroke_1 shape-with-text\">\n<div class=\"text-content graphic_textbox_layout_style_default_External_291_876\">\n<div class=\"graphic_textbox_layout_style_default\">\n<h1 class=\"paragraph_style\">Ward\u2019s Ferry Access<\/h1>\n<h2 class=\"paragraph_style_1\">Access from Glade:<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_2\"><span class=\"style\">\u2022<\/span>Head North on Hwy 3A towards Nelson<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_2\"><span class=\"style\">\u2022<\/span>Turn right after lumber yard at Glade Ferry sign<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_2\"><span class=\"style\">\u2022<\/span>Cross the Kootenay River on the Glade Ferry<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_2\"><span class=\"style\">\u2022<\/span>Take the first left on Glade Road<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_2\"><span class=\"style\">\u2022<\/span>When this road turns to gravel (1.7km), keep to your left and continue on for 0.5km<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"paragraph_style_4\">Access from South Slocan:<\/h2>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_5\"><span class=\"style\">\u2022<\/span>Head east on Hwy 3A towards Nelson<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_5\"><span class=\"style\">\u2022<\/span>Exit right on Blewett Road just passed S.
